Thinking Together AI
ABOUT & CONTACT
Meet Diana Ford
I have spent many years working in the nonprofit sector, with a focus on social impact, community systems and cross-sector collaboration. Most recently, I directed the La Plata County Collaborative Management Program, where my work included program strategy, partner coordination, staff supervision, budget and funding management, facilitation, reporting, documentation, and systems development across housing, behavioral health, education, the justice-system, and community-based services.
As AI becomes increasingly integrated into the work of these organizations, I have delivered AI training to educators, social workers, the justice professionals and other interdisciplinary audiences. My approach brings that experience together with ongoing, hands-on work with AI systems, including cross-platform experimentation, model evaluation, and examination of model behavior and failure modes.
I began developing this work because as I became fascinated with AI, I also realized that something was missing in the way it was being integrated. Widespread attention to all of the things AI could do for us was overshadowing what might actually happen if it became the only one participating. I also realized that while we were gaining more and more access to these tools, there were very few resources to help us learn how to use them safely. I started offering trainings to fill that gap, from a trauma-informed and ethically conscious perspective, so that instead of replacing our own authorship, we can learn to think together with AI.
Let’s talk about your goals
If you’re exploring training or consulting, I’d welcome a conversation. Tell me a little about your organization or individual goals, the work you do, and the questions you’re bringing to AI.
